In this project I was instructed to draw a still life of shoes. First i positioned my sandals at an angle that was easy to perceive. Then I began to sketch the lightly colored shoe. I progressively added detail, including the braiding in the front straps of the shoes. Next, I added what minor shading was required considering it is such a light shoe. I decided not to shade heavily or draw shadows to create a clean cut image in to comparison with the charcoal drawing for next week. My inspiration to use these shoes was how comfortable they are, Marilyn Monroe (an idol of mine) once said "Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world.", which being a huge shoe lover, I completely agree with! I learned through this project that perception is hard to capture on paper.
